Cummins QSB series engines continue building a strong reputation on innovation and reliability
Manston, United Kingdom – The QSB5 continues to raise the bar in intelligent forward thinking engine design. The seamless combination of Cummins premium brand of engineering and a sophisticated electronic system has led to the creation of a truly world class engine.
The full authority electronic engine allows users to define and mould the QSB to their own specific needs and integrate it with other components to optimise engine operation. Simple on site adjustments can be easily made to utilise the full potential of the QSB and have it working in harmony with the customer’s needs. The patented high pressure common rail fuel system with centred fuel injectors allows multiple injection events for cleaner, quieter operation with more consistent performance.
The QSB 5 features a low–maintenance fuel filter assembly. The fuel filter incorporates an integral water separator and water–in–fuel sensor. The filter has a 500 hour lifespan with a user friendly, easy top–load replacement using standard Fleetguard® filters.
As well as being a highly flexible and efficient engine the QSB also boasts the prestigious mantle of being the best in its class for power density and EPA tier 3 and stage 3 emissions.
The innovative design does not just stop at lowering emissions either; noise has been significantly reduced as well. The deep stiff crankcase with structural ribs lowers noise and significantly increases engine life. The reduced noise levels are of great interest to Genset manufacturers. Reduced noise levels mean that less sound proofing is required and a more cost–effective installation is achieved. Coupled with the increased reliability and durability of the QSB a highly energy and cost effective engine has been produced.
QSB7
The QSB7 boasts an impressive array of features and continues to build on Cummins prestigious reputation for building strong, innovative and reliable engines. The QSB7 is designed with one thing in mind – the customer’s needs.
The high pressure Common rail fuel system not only helps to reduce emissions, meaning that the QSB7 has the lowest emissions in its class power density, EPA tier 3 and EU Stage 3 Emissions. It also means that the customer is presented with a quieter and more efficient engine.
The reduced noise is not only good for the customer’s ears, but their pockets as well. A reduction in the noise of the engine means that less money will have to be spent on soundproofing–optimising the cost effectiveness of installation. This coupled with the increased reliability and durability ensures that this 6 cylinder, 24 valve engine is an astute financial investment.
The QSB also reaps the benefits from its centred injectors with symmetrical piston bowls – creating improved airflow and even fuel dispersion, resulting in increased power, improved transient response and reduced fuel consumption on 24–valve versions of the QSB.
The full authority electronic engine optimises engine performance and provides seamless integration with other components and offers advanced diagnostics as well as a wide range of programming options. The full authority electronic controls give the customer instant access to the key parameters of the engine, on site adjustments can be quickly and efficiently made and the customer is able to have the QSB7 working in unison with their needs.
