Cummins provides complete backup power systems for hospitals, data centers and other critical facilities
June 18, 2008 – Cummins Power Generation now offers closed–transition bypass switches from 150 to 4,000 amps for critical locations such as hospitals, data centers and 24/7 call centers. Cummins’ BTPC bypass switches offer redundant power transfer capability for situations where even a brief power interruption can have serious consequences. The closed–transition BTPC switch automatically transfers loads between two live sources (utility and backup) without interruption.

New automatic transfer switches meet strict UL 1008 standards for service entry loads

Snowmaking at Snow Summit Ski Resort augments Mother Nature with help from Cummins Power Generation "micro–grid" system
February 21, 2008 – To maintain a solid snow base of between three and five feet throughout the ski season, Snow Summit recently installed a prime power "micro–grid" from Cummins Power Generation Inc. increasing snowmaking capacity by 50 percent. This system requires about 12 megawatts of electricity to power air compressors, water pumps and fan guns.

February 15, 2008 – The Cummins Power Generation African & African American Affinity Group – Community Involvement Team (4AG–CIT), a part of the Cummins Multi–Ethnic Affinity Group, hosted a first–of–its–kind youth involvement event at the Cummins Power Generation manufacturing facility in Fridley. The event was one of several Cummins activities held around the country to celebrate Black History Month.

Cummins Power Generation is first-to-market with new 10, 15, 20, and 25 kW Tier 4 generator sets
December 11, 2007 – A new line of generator sets from Cummins Power Generation Inc. is the first on the market to meet the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) stringent Tier 4 emissions regulations. The generator sets are rated at 10 kW, 15 kW, 20 kW and 25 kW.

Cummins Power Generation is first–to–market with IBC–certified generator sets under 230 kW
December 11, 2007 – Cummins Power Generation has become the first manufacturer to publicly announce International Building Code (IBC) certification on all its production generator sets under 230 kW. The certification will apply to products shipping from the factory starting in March, 2008.
